Arrive and check in
Arrive 10 minutes early to allow time for registration. Our reception team will check your details, collect your Medicare card, and provide any forms to complete. There are 9 dedicated parking spaces directly outside the building.
Meet your haematologist
You will be called through to meet your specialist haematologist. They will review your referral, discuss your symptoms and medical history, and perform any necessary examination.
Discussion and plan
Your haematologist will explain their assessment and discuss the recommended plan, which may include further tests, treatment options, or follow-up appointments. If treatment such as chemotherapy is planned, our Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) will help coordinate your care, provide education, and offer ongoing support. This is a good time to ask any questions.
Blood tests (if needed)
If blood tests are required, pathology forms will be provided. Many pathology collection centres are located nearby. Results are reviewed by your haematologist and communicated to you and your GP.
Payment and follow-up
Payment is made at reception after your consultation. A follow-up appointment will be arranged if needed, and a letter is sent to your referring doctor summarising the consultation.
What to bring
- Your Medicare card and any concession or DVA cards
- Recent blood test results and imaging reports (if not already sent)
- A list of your current medications (including doses)
